3 tips to make moving house less stressful

Posted on November 3, 2016 in House Moving, Moving Tips
Make your move easy and stress free with professional movers.

A 2015 study by E.ON of 2000 adults found that over 60 per cent of respondents classed moving home as their most stressful life event. Here at Professional Movers we understand how hard it can be, but we reckon it doesn't need to be that way – so we do everything we can to make every move a stress-free breeze.

Handy as we are, we can't do it all though. Here's a quick list of four things you can do to avoid unnecessary stress during your move.

Pack away valuables and freight them yourself

Worrying about your jewelry, passport and other valuables will certainly hike up the stress levels when moving. Our expert removalists are as honest and careful as can be but for your own peace of mind it's always worth taking care of these personally.

3 tips to make moving house less stressfulMoving house doesn't have to be stressful.

Pack them away carefully and drive them to your new home yourself – that way you'll know where they are every minute of your move.

Pack a box of things you'll need straight away

One of the most annoying things about moving home is not having everything you need to continue life when you reach your new abode. The Australian Furniture Removal Association recommends remedying this problem by simply packing a box of everything you'll need as soon as you arrive, clearly labelling it and setting it aside.

This might include clothes for work the next day, toiletries or just the kettle so you can make yourself a cup of tea while you settle in.

Clear your schedule

Save yourself the back pain, and the stress of doing it yourself and hire Professional Movers.

The last thing you need when you're starting a new life is worries about work adding to your stress levels. It may even take a little longer than you expected to settle in and get your life in order once you arrive. You risk being late or distracted by everything you have to do when you finally get to the office.

Instead of trying to do a million things at once, take an extra day or two of annual leave after your move. That'll give you time to settle in and relax before going back to business as usual.

Leave it to the professionals

Picking up your entire life and moving it to a new home is a massive undertaking. Save yourself the back pain, and the stress of doing it yourself and hire Professional Movers to shoulder the load with you.
